Description

The story takes place in Istanbul around the Bosphorus and there are scenes in and around Topkapi Palace, the Blue Mosque, Haghia Sophia, Galata Tower and the Maiden’s Tower. It is a story based on the legend of Hezarfen Ahmet Celebi, who flew from Galata Tower across the Bosphorus to Üsküdar in the 17th century during the reign of Murat IV. He was born 1609 and died in 1640. There is only one written account of his flight by the Turkish writer and historian Evliya Celebi, who witnessed the flight. As there is only one account of the flight it is seen as more a legend than a true story.
